Samyukta Socialist Party/socialist Party candidate Bhola Prasad Singh won and became MLA from this seat. He secured total 30432 votes. Indian National Congress (organisation) candidate Hari Narain Singh stood second with total 29532 votes. He lost by 900 votes.
