“De De Pyaar De 2” Script Penned by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain; Directorial Debut for Anshul Sharma, Noted for Contributions to “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety” and “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.”
In 2019, Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Rakul Preet Singh graced the screen with the rom-com “De De Pyaar De,” directed by Akiv Ali and produced by Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg, and Bhushan Kumar. This outing marked Devgn’s return to the rom-com realm and emerged as a sleeper hit, winning hearts with its content and leaving room for a potential sequel. Now, four years after the original, the team gears up for “De De Pyaar De 2.”
Sources close to the project indicate that “De De Pyaar De 2” is on the horizon, with plans for production to commence early next year. Reportedly, Ajay Devgn and Luv Ranjan recently finalized the sequel’s nuances. Penned by the original writers Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain, the script promises to elevate conflicts. While the initial installment navigated Ashish’s (Ajay Devgn) family’s reaction to his relationship with Ayesha Khurana (Rakul Preet Singh), 26 years his junior, the sequel will delve into Ayesha’s family’s response to her involvement with a 50-year-old.
Anshul Sharma, credited as Creative Director for Luv’s past hits “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety” and “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” is reportedly set to direct. Assuming all goes according to plan, “De De Pyaar De 2” will be Ajay Devgn’s next project following Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again.”
Notably, Ajay Devgn’s prowess extends across diverse movie franchises, from “Singham” and “Golmaal” to “Drishyam.” Now, “De De Pyaar De” joins this league as a burgeoning franchise. Luv Films is yet to offer an official confirmation. Luv Ranjan’s previous directorial, “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” achieved box-office success with Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles.
