Chandramukhi 2 Release Date Delayed; Film’s September 15th Premiere Faces Postponement

Amid swirling speculations, Raghava Lawrence’s much-anticipated film, “Chandramukhi 2,” originally slated for release on September 15, is reportedly facing a delay. It is now rumored that the film’s release date has been rescheduled to September 28, although an official confirmation from the production team is still awaited.
The delay in the release of “Chandramukhi 2” is attributed to post-production requirements.
In a bid to generate excitement around the film, the makers have officially announced that the Telugu pre-release event is scheduled for September 11, 2023, starting at 6 PM. This grand event will take place at Hyderabad’s esteemed JRC Convention Center and is expected to witness the presence of the film’s cast and crew. Notably, the film’s grand audio launch was held in Chennai last month.
The recently unveiled trailer of “Chandramukhi 2” offers a glimpse into the intertwined lives of Chandramukhi and Vettaiyan, along with a vengeful narrative that has lain dormant for over two centuries within the vast palace. Rajinikanth assumes the role of Vettaiyan Raja, a character he previously portrayed in the 2005 original, “Chandramukhi.”
Directed by P Vasu and produced by Lyca Productions, “Chandramukhi 2” features an ensemble cast including Vadivelu, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Lakshmi Menon, Srushti Dange, Mithun Shyam, Mahima Nambiar, Rao Ramesh, Vignesh, Ravi Mariya, Suresh Menon, T. M. Karthik, and Subiksha Krishnan in supporting roles. The film’s music is composed by the Oscar-winning MM Keeravani.
“Chandramukhi 2” is reported to be a prequel, delving into the backstory of Vetayan and Chandramukhi. The horror-comedy genre holds immense appeal due to Rajinikanth’s charisma, Jyothika’s stellar performances, and comedic elements. The sequel carries significant expectations, and fans eagerly await its release to see if it lives up to the legacy of the blockbuster original, “Chandramukhi.”
