Telecom leader Bharti Airtel has unveiled its latest strategic move with the launch of the Rs 99 Unlimited Data Pack. This new offering is set to provide users with an affordable and adaptable tariff option, while simultaneously contributing to Airtel’s efforts to enhance its Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) through data monetization.

The rollout of the Rs 99 plan signifies Airtel’s commitment to tailoring its offerings to the evolving demands of its user base. The telecom giant has undergone substantial plan revisions in recent months, which include the discontinuation of certain plans and the introduction of new ones.
Notably, Airtel had previously featured a Rs 99 plan that was withdrawn earlier this year. However, the current iteration is distinct, designed as an add-on plan rather than a revival of the earlier version.
This new plan is designed to be activated after exhausting daily high-speed data limits, granting users one day of unlimited data access.
While unlimited access is assured, there’s a stipulation in the form of a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) involving a cap at 30GB of high-speed data usage. Beyond this limit, data speeds are lowered to 64Kbps. Users should also be aware that an active base plan is a prerequisite for enjoying the benefits of this add-on data pack.
For those in areas covered by Airtel 5G Plus, the Unlimited 5G Benefit in conjunction with an Airtel Truly Unlimited plan ensures unrestricted 5G data without daily usage constraints.
However, in regions without 5G coverage, the new Rs. 99 Data Pack stands as a practical solution for users employing 4G handsets. It grants supplementary high-speed data to cater to heightened data needs and unforeseen usage scenarios.
In parallel developments within the telecom landscape, Vi, a prominent competitor, has announced an exclusive Independence Day offer. Vi’s prepaid users stand to gain an extra 50GB data for recharges above Rs 199, valid until August 18. Vodafone Idea customers are further entitled to immediate discounts on specific recharge packs.
Likewise, Jio, a major contender, has introduced its Independence Day offer on the Rs 2,999 annual recharge plan. This comprehensive package spans a year and features 2.5GB daily data, unlimited voice calls, and 100 daily SMS. Jio’s plan also extends the potential for users to access 5G data.
