In a recent episode, the veteran host, Amitabh Bachchan, fondly revisited his experience working alongside his son, Abhishek Bachchan, and daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, in the film “Bunty Aur Babli.”
During the episode, contestant Abhishek Garg encountered the 12th question, worth Rs 12,50,000. The question posed was, ‘Piyush Mishra’s band Ballimaaraan refers to a locality in Delhi, most famously associated with which poet?’ Opting for Option D) Mirza Ghalib, Garg’s response proved to be correct. This prompted Amitabh Bachchan to unveil an intriguing connection. He revealed that the lyrics of his song “Kajra Re” from the movie “Bunty Aur Babli” featured a reference to Ballimaaraan. Notably, the song featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, with the former yet to become his daughter-in-law at the time. Bachchan fondly reminisced, saying, “Usmein hum teeno the. Tab Aishwarya humari bahu nahi thi, ab ban gayi hai. Gaane me bahu thi, Abhishek the aur hum the. Uss gaane mein bol the.”
To further delight the audience, Amitabh Bachchan requested the show’s team to play “Kajra Re” and even showcased his dancing prowess, grooving to the iconic track.
