Telegram Introduces Stories Feature, Enabling Post-Posting Edits for Users; Adding a Fresh Dimension to the Feature.

Telegram, the encrypted messaging app, has officially unveiled its Stories feature for all users as part of its 10th-anniversary celebration. Distinguishing itself from platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and TikTok, Telegram allows users to edit their Stories even after they have been published.

“This marks a historic moment in social media evolution, where you can dynamically modify any aspect of your story without the need for a complete deletion and repost,” stated Telegram. The platform, now boasting over 800 million users, introduces unique attributes to its Stories, including a dual camera mode, finely-tuned privacy controls, and customizable durations.

Displayed at the top of the screen in an expandable section, Stories coexist with chat lists and folders. Default settings display Stories from all contacts, which can be selectively hidden and sent to archived chats.

Leveraging Telegram’s robust media editor, Stories are enriched with text, drawings, stickers, and location tags, with added context available through captions that accommodate longer descriptions, friend tags, and links.

Privacy settings offer a spectrum of choices, including Everyone, My Contacts, Close Friends, and Selected Contacts. Stories can persist for timeframes of 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours, and can be showcased on profiles in an aesthetically pleasing grid arrangement.

For enhanced anonymity, Premium users can activate Stealth Mode, allowing them to erase their viewing history from the past 5 minutes and conceal their subsequent viewing activity for the ensuing 25 minutes.
